essentially resulting in "no choice".ĭon't get me wrong, I think there are a few choices that are actually really well done and balanced.
If you make Military upgrades to good(which most are) they will be the preferred choice. If you make economy upgrades to good, they overshadow any reasonable Military ones simply because you could then mass produce units. I mean there are a few more, like Elves' Champion, Prophet and Deity Military choices. Sure, game difference can skew the "optimal" choice in favor of Military or Economic but overall there are quite of few choices that are simply better.ĭraconian Patron: Shrines cost 35g less(which is only ever useful very early game) or Flamers get +1 Def and +5 HP(which is useful entire game).ĭraconian Protector: Charger and Crusher get Regrowth(which is amazing) or +10 Production from Magma Forges.(Which is solid but highly situational and RNG dependant)ĭwarf Patron: Crossbowmen get +2 ranged damage(nice) or +8g when tunneling or tree crushing(only useful in heavy underground, so not really).ĭwarf Protector: Axmen and Deepguard get +2 melee damage(nice) or +3g from mines.(Again highly situational and not even that great IMO)įrostling Protector: Royal Guards get +1 Def and Life Steal(very handy if not Necro) or Walls and Totems cost 50g less.(Which is actually solid but Pikemen bonuses are incredibly useful.)įrostling Prophet: Units with Frost Weapons can Frostbite(which is basically only T1s and Frostbite isn't that great) or Ice Queens 25% cheaper, Frost Castle 100g cheaper and provides Gold, Mana and/or Happiness.(Which is really great offensively, who needs debuffs when you can have more Ice Queens?)
