Simply press and hold the “ Home” button to bring up Siri, then say “ Shuffle” followed by the item you would like to shuffle. These buttons can be used to shuffle playlists, artists, or albums. Another spot where you can access the Shuffle option is at the top of any playlist or when viewing artists. This feature comes in handy if you’re listening to an audio book or a long compilation. You can also drag the ball on the song timeline to skip forward or backward on the current track. Tap it again and a number 1 will appear next to it and the device will repeat the current song. To the right of the Shuffle icon is the repeat icon. The arrows will show with a darker box when enabled. iOS 10 users can select the crossed arrows to toggle the Shuffle setting.Navigate to the “ Now Playing card. You can access the “ Now Playing” card from anywhere by swiping up from the bottom of the screen to bring up the Control Center, then swiping left.You can also press the Option key and click the icon, then choose Create Genius Playlist. To activate this, choose Controls > Genius Shuffle, or press Option-Space.
This is a way of turning on shuffle for your entire music library. iTunes 11.1, released yesterday, has a new feature called Genius Shuffle. ITunes 11?s Up Next replaces the queuing feature, but there was no way to make a long shuffle playlist of your music. It allowed you to either queue up music or have iTunes play music at random from a specific playlist, or from your entire Music library, and a lot of people miss this option. You may recall the iTunes DJ feature in older versions of iTunes.
